Is Samsung merging Galaxy S Series and Galaxy Note Series: Samsung announced their new flagship phones – Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus on March 29, 2017, and since then it has grasped a million focuses. Samsung has received about 550,000 pre-orders so far, and the pre-orders will be delivered on April 18, 2017, which is three days before the store openings of the same.
Now, with all the leaked images, features and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus, it is surprising to see that the Samsung Galaxy’s S line is intersecting with the Note line of the Same giant. Usually, Samsung makes its flagship releases under two lines – the Galaxy S series and the Galaxy Note series.
The Samsung S line is for customers who like the traditional look and size of the phone with good specifications, and the Note line is for those who like a bigger screen and much bigger specifications than that of a cell phone. There were consecutive releases in both the lines until Samsung Galaxy Note 7 failed the makers by exploding. The 3500 mAh battery couldn’t handle its pace and exploded in a few cases. This lead to controversies and trust issues which made Samsung call back its Note 7 devices. The South Korean giant went through a rough time, and they haven’t released anything else in the line yet. Meanwhile, the S line is going well. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are expected to break records, and the pre-order is already on fire.
The major difference that the Galaxy S line and its note line featured was regarding screen size, the inclusion of the stylus and the clarity. Now, the S8 and S8 Plus are specified to have screen sizes 5.8 and 6.2 inches respectively. These two sizes are massive than the last note’s screen. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had a screen of size 5.7 inches only. The S series has exceeded the screen size of a Note itself. If someone comes up with the plan of including the stylus to the S8 phone, that’s it can be doubled as Galaxy Note 8. The specifications are that close.
The cutting-edge screen makes more for the fact of the bigger screen. The customers are looking forward to this phone which covers the entire front portion of the phone at an 18.5:9 ratio. When Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 were released simultaneously in 2011, there were many difference between the two regarding big battery, pixel resolution, huge difference in screen size and the S Pen. Regarding Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, though there wasn’t much change, the screen size and S pen made it. Now, the S8 is exceeding in everything of that kind which leaves the question, what will be in a Galaxy Note 8?
After all the exploding battery episodes, the name Galaxy Note has got its damage. One more device in the same name with a different number – though Samsung wouldn’t do the same fault again, will take a while to hold its place. Considering all this maybe this month’s release – Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus are a double up of the Note thus calling itself Samsung Galaxy Note S8. Or if Samsung plans to release a unique device by name Galaxy Note 8, there is so much that the device should satisfy.
