But new versions are possible
AMD finally unveiled the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT graphics cards yesterday . Now there are five models in the manufacturer’s lineup, or six if you count with the RX 7900 GRE, which is available at retail only in China. And, as it turned out, there will be no other models.
Following yesterday’s announcement, AMD Senior Vice President and General Manager of Graphics Division Scott Herkleman stated that the RDNA 3 lineup has been completed. True, with reservations.
AMD will no longer release fully new video card models in the Radeon RX 7000 line
So, the RDNA3 portfolio is complete. These are the last few products we will be launching. We may have different versions, but they are not a new ASIC/SKU. It’s been a journey, it’s been about a year since we released the very first RDNA3 and now, one year later, we’re wrapping up the series. We have to finish, we have finished and we are encouraged. And now I think we have a wide range of options for people who want RDNA3 at a higher and lower price.
It is worth paying attention to the caveat that new versions may appear, but there will be no new ASICs / SKUs. Simply put, apparently, you should not wait for the Radeon RX 7500 XT or RX 7400 XT, but the RX 7700 may well come out on an even more stripped-down Navi 32 GPU or some overclocked versions of the RX 7×50.
Recall that there are already six models in the RTX 40 lineup and another RTX 4050 may well come out. On the other hand, if we compare by price categories, AMD has five models in the range from $ 270 to $ 1000 plus the RX 7900 GRE, which can be taken into account, but with reservations. Nvidia also has five or six models in the range from $300 to $1200, there is an RTX 4060 Ti 16GB to consider as a separate one.
