AMD’s new driver is causing problems with booting Windows 10

The recently released AMD SCSI Adapter 9.3.0.221 driver for Windows 10 has been reported to cause problems loading the operating system in some cases. User complaints about the difficulties encountered after installing it appeared on the AMD and Microsoft support portals and various online communities.

The mentioned driver a few days ago began to be distributed through the “Windows Update” and became available not only to participants in the Microsoft insider program but also to ordinary users of the software platform. It turned out that under certain system configurations, installing this driver leads to problems with loading the OS. The cause of the problem is unknown, but judging by user reports, it most often occurs on computers with Gigabyte Aorus motherboards based on the X570 chipset.

In their messages, users say that after installing the mentioned update and then restarting the computer, the operating system stops loading. An error appears on the screen informing about the inaccessibility of the boot disk. It is unclear how widespread the problem is, but Microsoft will have to acknowledge the problem and release an appropriate fix if the number of complaints continues to grow. Currently, the only option for restoring the boot boils down to rolling back the operating system and then refusing to install the problematic update.
