Probably thanks to the excellent sales of the PS5
AMD has shared the results of the second quarter of the 2023 fiscal year.
During the reporting period, the company received revenue of $5.36 billion, which is 18% less than a year earlier. Net profit decreased 16 times to $27 million. The company also recorded an operating loss of $20 million against a profit of $526 million a year earlier.
AMD’s profit has collapsed 16 times, but the gaming business has suffered less than others
Interestingly, in terms of revenue, it was not the server solutions segment that suffered the least, but AMD’s gaming direction. Here, revenue fell by only 4%, to $1.6 billion. The company attributes this to growth in revenue from semi-custom solutions. Probably primarily from the actively growing PS5 sales.
Recall, today AMD has promised to release new gaming video cards before the end of this month.
