Apple A14 Bionic chip, expected in iPhone 12, appeared in the photo

With the release of each new iPhone model approaching, there are many rumors and leaks on the Web, revealing the features of a promising device. This also applies to the iPhone 12 series due out this fall. Today, a reputable insider hiding under the nickname Mr-white posted on Twitter a photo of Apple’s A14 Bionic chips, which will reportedly form the basis of the Californian tech giant’s new smartphones.

Mr-white has repeatedly published confirming information about future Apple devices, so the information received from him is credible. Adding confidence in the veracity of the photo of the A14 Bionic chips is the fact that a few days ago TSMC announced that it is currently producing 5nm chips for a device due out in the fall. This is most likely just about the iPhone 12.

Currently, the most productive mobile processors on the market are the Apple A13 Bionic and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, which are manufactured using 7nm process technology. Reducing lithography could make the new chip faster, more compact, and more energy-efficient, which is expected from the Apple A14.

TSMC itself claims that the new processor is about 15% faster and consumes 30% less power than the current 7nm models. This will provide better autonomy and higher performance of the device equipped with it.

The huge advantage of Apple’s approach is that the new processor is likely to be installed in all new iPhone models, from the relatively budget 5.4-inch iPhone 12 to the flagship 6.8-inch smartphone. Back in March, Apple A14 test results were allegedly found in GeekBench. Then the processor scored 4612 points, while the A12X chip installed in the current generation iPad Pro gains 4568 points in the same test. If these performance estimates are confirmed, the performance of the new chip will significantly outperform the Snapdragon 865, which scores roughly 3517 points.
