Apple integrates Shazam music recognition service in iOS 14.2

Apple has released a beta version of the mobile operating system iOS 14.2, one of the main innovations of which is the built-in music recognition function using the Shazam service. This means that iOS users will be able to recognize music with just a couple of taps and without installing a separate app.

Approximately two years have passed since Apple bought Shazam for $ 400 million. The development of the service has led to its integration into iOS, and already now the participants in beta testing of the new version of the software platform have the opportunity to add a music recognition tool to the control panel. Music recognition is supported both from external sources and played directly on the device. After the track is recognized, a corresponding notification is displayed on the screen, by clicking on which the user can go to listen to it in the App Store.

If you are using the beta version of iOS 14.2, then in order to launch the music recognition tool, you must activate the desired option in the settings in the “Additional controls” menu. After that, Shazam can be turned on directly in the control center, and then begin to recognize music playing in the environment or playing on the device.

The beta version of IOS 14.2 has other innovations that will become available to a wide range of users after the completion of the testing phase and the launch of the stable version of the software platform.
