Automata Effect: Critics Accept NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 … noticeably warmer than the original game
Less than a day is left before the release of NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … and therefore, the site of the Metacritic aggregator was filled with numerous reviews of the updated version of the cult action Square Enix from 2010.
By the time of the publication of the material, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … received 75 unique ratings, which were divided between target platforms as follows: PS4 (62 reviews), PC (9), and Xbox One (4).
In terms of the average score on Metacritic, the NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … for PS4 – 83% proved to be the best. Slightly behind Xbox One (81%), and a little more behind – PC (79%).
For comparison, the original NieR received a much cooler response from Western critics. The PlayStation 3 edition received only 68%, while the Xbox 360 edition received even less than 67%.
Alexei Likhachev explained why this happened in his review for 3DNews: “Of course, this time the audience will be more supportive of the game – it is already clear what to expect from it, how many times to play it, and what exactly is done well in it. “
The updated version inherited the main advantages and disadvantages from the original: the plot and characters are still well spelled out, but the deliberate protraction of the already outdated 2010 game design in 2021 is even more striking.
In addition to the graphics, developers from the Toylogic studio have modernized the soundtrack, improved the combat system, re-voiced the characters, and bonus content for fans of the series.
What Toylogic did with the NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … it didn’t manage to port the game to the PC flawlessly. As reported by PC Gamer and PCGamesN, the Steam version suffers from a couple of annoying irritants.
First, the limited graphics options (no vertical sync parameter, frame rate limiter, and so on). Secondly, regular slowdowns, apparently caused by problems with the controller.
“The NieR remaster is not as exciting as NieR: Automata because of the ragged pace of the storytelling. But it’s still a good action game with a great storyline, which has benefited from improvements in the gameplay, ”Likhachev concluded.
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 … goes on sale tomorrow, April 23rd, for PC (Steam), PS4, and Xbox One. The system requirements for the project were presented in February this year.
