But only in the case of import substitution of components
Samara plant Aviakor is ready to re-produce An-140 aircraft, follows from the annual report published by the company. Aviakor previously specialized in the production of Tu-154 and An-140 aircraft, but if the plant noted that the Tu-154 “probability of completion is extremely low”, then the possibility of resuming the production of An-140 is being considered.
Aviakor may resume production of regional aircraft An-140
The An-140 is a turboprop regional cargo-passenger aircraft developed by the Ukrainian company Antonov, which has now refused to cooperate. The plant stopped the construction program for these aircraft in 2015. According to Aviakor, the production of An-140 can be resumed if the program of import substitution of components and systems is implemented.
After the production of the An-140 was discontinued, Aviakor received a compensating order: it is involved in the construction of the turboprop regional aircraft TVRS-44 Ladoga together with the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA). The Samara plant manufactures the fuselage and other units for prototypes. In the future, it is planned to master and put into mass production of finished aircraft kits and final assembly, including flight tests.
