Nvidia, renowned for its GPUs, is interested in acquiring Arm, one of the world’s leading chip developers for portable and mobile devices, as well as servers and supercomputers.

It is also reported that other bidders may appear in the process. Recently it became known that SoftBank, which owns Arm, is considering selling the company.
There is a possibility that SoftBank will choose the IPO option, but if Arm is acquired by Nvidia or others, this deal could be one of the largest in the history of the industry.
Nvidia’s acquisition of Arm could pose a serious threat to companies like Intel, Qualcomm, and most other manufacturers, as almost all of them license Arm technology for their own chips.
The arm was acquired by SoftBank and the SoftBank Vision Fund for approximately $ 32 billion in 2016. SoftBank is currently selling off assets to weather the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
If the companies agree, the deal is likely to be subject to very careful and rigorous regulatory scrutiny.
