Denuvo removed from the Steam version of Borderlands 3

Gearbox Software and 2K Games have released a new patch for Borderlands 3. He removed Denuvo’s DRM technology from the Steam version of the game, which will surely please many users. However, it is not yet clear whether this had a positive effect on performance.

Recently, a leak was leaked with information about how much Crytek studio paid to use Denuvo. If you rely on this contract, it becomes clear why developers eventually remove the mentioned DRM technology from their projects. After the first year, they have to pay additional funds to the protection manufacturer every month. Most likely for the same reason, Denuvo was removed from Borderlands 3.

At the moment, there has been no feedback on improving the performance of the Steam version of the game. As a reminder, enthusiasts have already conducted tests related to this DRM protection several times. In most cases, Denuvo was found to degrade project performance by increasing download times and lowering frame rates.
