The company conducted a study in which it turned out that users get confused in chats when they are looking for the right dialogue. They will now be able to communicate with each other using either of the two applications. The update is currently available in a limited number of countries, but the company promises to expand its geographic coverage soon.

In total, 10 new features appeared in social networks:

  • Co-viewing Facebook Watch, IGTV, or Reels (in the future) during a call;
  • The ability to create messages that disappear after viewing or after leaving the chat;
  • Selfie Stickers;
  • Chat color scheme;
  • Reactions to messages in the form of emoji;
  • Forwarding messages to friends;
  • Replies to a specific message;
  • Animated message effects;
  • More detailed setting of locks and bans.

In addition to Instagram and Facebook, the company also owns the WhatsApp messenger. Whether the developers are planning to merge chats with him is unclear.
