Folding smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is credited with the presence of a sub-screen camera
Network sources have spread information that the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold flexible smartphone may be the first Samsung device to have a front camera located directly behind the display.
Earlier, there were rumors that the next-generation Galaxy S flagship smartphones will receive a sub-screen selfie camera, which will be announced in the first quarter of 2021. These devices, according to some sources, will be included in the Galaxy S21 family, according to others – Galaxy S30.
However, now it is reported that the technology for the production of subscreen cameras still needs to be improved, and therefore Samsung decided to postpone its implementation in commercial gadgets. Thus, future smartphones Galaxy S-series will do without this solution.
Instead, the camera hidden behind the display will debut in the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is expected to be unveiled no earlier than the second half of next year. This smartphone will receive a completely frameless flexible display, devoid of a cutout or hole.
As for the Galaxy S21 / S30 devices, they are credited with having a screen with a hole for the front camera. Depending on the modification, a single or double selfie module can be used.
