Gigabyte gives a new version of the giant GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master graphics card with a third power connector

Gigabyte has introduced a new revision of the GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master graphics accelerator. Recall that the main feature of this video card is its huge four-slot air cooling system.

The GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master is powered by an NVIDIA GA102 GPU with 10,496 CUDA cores. The video card is equipped with 24 GB of GDDR6X video memory. Gigabyte announced the Boost frequency for the GPU card at 1785 MHz. It seems that the real overclocking potential of this graphics accelerator is much higher, given the size of its cooling system. But, apparently, he was limited by a lack of food. This is how you can explain the appearance of the third 8-pin connector for additional power in the new revision of the video card, which is absent in the original version of this graphics accelerator. In addition, the manufacturer stated the need to use a higher power supply unit. If for the original model Gigabyte recommended a 750 W PSU, then for the updated model – 850 W.

The dimensions of the GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master remained the same – 319 × 140 × 70 mm. The manufacturer does not indicate the weight of the video card. The set of external interfaces for the second revision also remained unchanged. Three DisplayPort 1.4a connectors, two HDMI 2.1, and one additional HDMI 2.0, located between the two older HDMIs, are announced.

As mentioned above, one of the main features of the GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master is its gigantic cooling system, which includes a huge heatsink and three fans. The dimensions of the two side Wind Claws are 115 mm, the one in the center is 100 mm. The peculiarity of the latter is that it rotates in the opposite direction to the other two for more efficient airflow.

The heatsink base uses a large copper contact pad to help transfer heat from the GPU and GDDR6X memory modules. The platform connects to the evaporation chamber, to which five heat transfer pipes are attached.

For external aesthetics, the Aorus Master is covered in a matte black casing with high-gloss black and silver accents. An RGB backlighting system is also built into the CO casing, and a liquid crystal display is located on the side of the video card.

It displays various useful information about the state of the video card. Moreover, it can display pictures, text, and GIFs. The manufacturer did not indicate the date of receipt of the updated version of the GeForce RTX 3090 Aorus Master for sale.
