Replacement battery testing will take place at Osaka University under the name “e-Yan OSAKA”. The companies will install battery replacement stations across all campuses of the organization and nearby stores. Specifications and replacement methodology have yet to be specified, but they are expected to follow Honda’s lead, which uses replacement batteries in the Honda PCX and Benly scooters.

Testing will last for a year, during which motorcycle manufacturers will study the effectiveness of new batteries and replacement stations. The further production of companies will depend on this.

Honda Chief Executive Noriaki Abe announced his readiness to cooperate with the consortium. He noted that the company will take part in e-Yan OSAKA testing to test the overall performance of the batteries. In his opinion, this will help solve problems with the proliferation of electric cycles and improve customer service conditions.

In early August, Yamaha introduced two new electric motors for motorcycles and automobiles. The first received power of 35 kW and is designed to balance speed and energy efficiency. The second received a power of 150 kW – it is intended for use in rear-wheel drive vehicles.
