Intel discrete graphics lit up in the system requirements of one of the latest games

In the list of system requirements for the new horror game Amnesia: Rebirth from Frictional Games, the desktop graphics card Intele- HPG is indicated in the graph of requirements for the PC graphics subsystem. No, Intel did not release the first desktop graphics card without informing anyone other than the developers of the said game.

Apparently, an error crept into the description. It is very likely that the developers of the game were actually referring to the integrated X e- LP graphics of Intel Tiger Lake processors. This is hinted at by the minimum system requirements, which indicate the integrated graphics Intel HD 630. Still, in the recommended requirements the creators of the game usually indicate a more productive solution, but the difference cannot be so great. Still, Intel X e- HPG will offer almost flagship performance by the standards of 2020, according to all previously announced rumors.

There is also a possibility that the developers meant the first discrete graphics from Intel, which will be the mobile discrete graphics Intel X e- LP. Recall that the other day this video card was mentioned by ASUS as the basis for the graphics subsystem of the updated version of the VivoBook Flip 14 laptop.

On the other hand, it indicates that game developers are taking Intel’s next-generation graphics seriously, be it discrete or integrated GPUs. It may also indirectly indicate that the debut of discrete video cards from Intel is not so long to wait. The company itself promised to debut in this area in 2020, until the end of which there is not much time left.

Returning to the X e- HPG, we recall that it is Intel’s first desktop graphics solution, which it is going to present only in 2021. The manufacturer has not yet announced any specific information about the technical characteristics of this video card but promised that the desktop graphics will receive video memory of the GDDR6 standard and hardware support for real-time ray tracing technology. In addition, the company confirmed that the X e- HPG graphics card will begin shipping next year.

According to the latest rumors, the Intel X e- HPG GPU is equipped with 960 Execution Units (EU) for a total of 7,680 shader cores. In other words, the new product will be able to compete with the latest discrete gaming solutions based on NVIDIA Ampere and AMD RDNA 2 architectures.

Amnesia: Rebirth is expected to release tomorrow, October 20 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 4. Pre-ordering is now available on all target platforms.
