JBL unveils 75th Anniversary Reissue of Legendary L100 Speakers and Retro Style Amplifier

Renowned audio equipment manufacturer JBL celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. In honour of the anniversary, the company presented several new products in the retro style. These include the high-end SA750 integrated amplifier, inspired by the SA600 and SA650 designs of the 1960s and 1970s, and a remake of the iconic JBL L100 speakers.

The new amplifier draws attention with its retro-style milled aluminium bezel with massive volume and balance controls and imposing switches that make you believe we are dealing with a mid-century device. The two-line display with orange backlit symbols and teak side panels further enhance this impression.

However, the filling of the novelty is made according to the latest technology. The new product is a high-performance Class G amplifier delivering 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms or 220 watts into 4 ohms. The device provides excellent audio quality. The amplifier supports audio streaming protocols such as Google Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2. The amplifier boasts Dirac Live technology to tune the device for optimal sound quality in any room.

Of the communication capabilities, it is worth noting ports Ethernet, RS-232 and USB, and support for Wi-Fi. The device will hit the market in April for $ 3000.

The L100 Classic 75 loudspeakers are ideally matched to the design of the new amplifier. Their cabinets are also made of teak wood, and the grills are made of Quadrex foam. The device will be released in a limited edition of 750 pairs, each of them will receive a unique serial number and be supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

For reproduction of low frequencies will be responsible 300 mm drivers with a cone made of pure cellulose in a cast frame, working in a bass reflex system. They will be complemented by 125mm midrange and tweeters with 25mm titanium domes. The speakers will go on sale in April for $ 5500 a pair.
