JBL unveils fresh GO 3, Clip 4 and Xtreme 3 portable speakers

For the IFA 2020 exhibition, which this year is being held in the shortest possible format due to COVID-19, the American company JBL held the first virtual presentation in its history, at which it presented a number of new products. Perhaps most interesting is the Go 3, Clip 4, and Xtreme 3 series of portable speakers, with a new style and uniform design.

All three speakers received a large, eye-catching JBL logo on the front, fabric trim on almost all sides, and special silicone stripes at the bottom – so that the devices adhere well to the surface even when playing the loudest music. Among the innovations compared to its predecessors, it is declared waterproof according to the IP67 standard against IPX7 and support for the Bluetooth 5.1 standard. And instead of charging via Micro USB, the speakers received a USB-C port.

Among the features of the Go 3, one can note a rope built into the device, into which it is easy and convenient to thread a finger: fortunately, the speaker itself is extremely compact and easily fits in the palm of your hand. Otherwise, it’s the same Bluetooth speaker that you can take with you wherever you go and stream music wirelessly for 5 hours. The built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology ensures good sounding of your phone calls. Go 3 comes in eight colors inspired by what the company says is the latest fashion. It is slated for release in October for $ 39.95 in the US or € 39.99 in Europe.

The Bluetooth speaker Clip 4 has also been significantly redesigned compared to the previous generation model: if earlier the carabiner (to attach, for example, to a backpack) was on top, then here the speaker itself is, in fact, enclosed inside a metal carabiner. With this design, the device has become stronger and more comfortable. The latch has also been redesigned and is now noticeably softer. The speaker is still capable of providing up to 10 hours of battery life and is available in 8 colors. Clip 4 will be released in December for $ 69.95 in the US or € 59.99 in Europe.

Finally, the Xtreme 3 hasn’t changed that much in appearance compared to the Xtreme 2, but it also includes a number of differences. Metal belt loops have become more reliable due to the increased diameter. The belt itself has also been redesigned: this also applies to the more comfortable carabiners and the redesigned opener integrated into the belt (it has become longer and stronger).

Rubber pads have been added to the right and left, which can save the device in the event of an accidental fall (for example, if the speaker slips out of your hands or falls off your shoulder). The body uses more metal instead of plastic. The rest is the same portable speaker system with Bluetooth and a powerful stereo sound. It is equipped with four speakers, two JBL Bass emitters, a USB connector for charging external devices, and a battery for 15 hours of continuous playback. JBL Xtreme 3 is available in black, blue, green, and camouflage and will be released in November for $ 349.95 in the US or € 299 in Europe.
