As planned by LG, the gadget will receive a flexible touchscreen display that will curl up inside the case. This will allow using the device in several modes, including in the form of a small tablet.

In the normal state, the owner will be dealing with a traditional candy bar type smartphone. By pulling the screen out of the case, the user can approximately double the useful area of the panel.

It is noted that the flexible display can be made using organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology or electronic paper. The patent describes the design of a module that allows the screen to be twisted and pulled out.

As you can see in the illustrations, the device has a symmetrical USB Type-C port. It also mentions the presence of an infrared transceiver.

The patent application was filed in September last year, and the document was issued this month. About when a smartphone with the described design may appear on the commercial market, nothing has been reported.
