Microsoft launches Viva digital platform for organizing remote work

Today, the Microsoft Viva platform was officially presented, aimed, according to the developer company, at professional development and maintaining a favorable emotional state of employees working remotely. Microsoft says Viva contains tools for engaging and learning and allows employees to share knowledge as they work.

It’s worth noting that Viva has a high level of integration with Microsoft 365 and Teams. The new platform is a product for the time. This is exactly the tool that is necessary for the high-quality organization of remote work. Microsoft Viva is made up of several key modules, some of which will launch later this year.

Viva Insights is designed to help employees organize their time to ensure efficient work and, at the same time, reduce the risk of overwork and, as a result, emotional burnout. This module will provide managers with guidance on how to build a cohesive and successful team. Leaders will receive a tool for building effective organizational models and tracking trends. Besides, the service assumes the ability to use these third-party services such as Zoom and Workday.

Viva Learning brings together all the learning resources available in the company in one place and content from Microsoft Learn and courses from third-party providers such as Coursera and Skillsoft. This module aims to make vocational training opportunities more accessible.

Viva Topics is designed to search for information within a company. The tool uses artificial intelligence to organize corporate data into categories automatically. The service automatically creates cards containing information about related documents and other files related to a topic when employees work in Microsoft 365 and Teams.

Viva Connections will allow users to communicate internally and access company resources such as internal policies, news, and corporate communities. All this will be available in a separate application in Microsoft Teams. Connections for PC will launch in the first half of this year, with a mobile app coming out towards the end.

It is important to note that to ensure confidentiality, Microsoft Viva uses de-identification so that the exact data on the user’s activity in the system is visible only to him. Managers and executives receive averaged anonymized data.
