NASA organizes the broadcast of the countdown and launch of the Perseverance rover
The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has reported that Internet users from around the world will be able to observe the historic launch of the Perseverance (Persistence) device, designed to fully explore Mars.
Recall that Perseverance is a large six-wheeled rover built on the Curiosity platform. The machine is equipped with advanced scientific equipment and a wide variety of cameras. A small helicopter is installed on the rover, which will have a bird’s eye view of the Red Planet. In addition, a sampling system for Martian soil is provided, which can subsequently be delivered to Earth by other automatic vehicles.
The launch of Perseverance was originally planned for July 17 this year. Then the start was postponed to the 22nd day of the current month, and subsequently to July 30.
And now it’s reported that everyone can follow the pre-launch process and the launch itself on the NASA website and NASA Television platform.
The launch of Perseverance will be carried out with the help of the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from the Launch Complex Space Launch Complex 41, located at the US Air Force Base at Cape Canaveral in Florida.
For the implementation of the mission, a launch window of approximately two hours has been determined. In this case, the launch can be performed every five minutes.
