Survios Studio has presented a release trailer for the zombie action for the virtual reality helmets The Walking Dead Onslaught. The game will release today, September 29, on Steam, PlayStation Store, and Oculus Store. PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Windows Mixed Reality are supported.

After the release, the standard edition will cost 515 rubles in the Valve store, 2,149 rubles in the PlayStation Store, and $ 29.99 on the Oculus site. A Deluxe Edition is also available with an additional set of weapons from the TV series, a mini soundtrack, an artbook, and a crafting kit. A 10% discount is available upon reservation. As a bonus for early purchase, users will receive exclusive suits and two types of weapons in the gold version.

The Walking Dead Onslaught takes place shortly after the end of the war with the Saviors. The game contains an original story campaign, protagonist by Daryl Dixon, and an endless Scavenger mode, where you must fight hordes of zombies and collect resources. In this mode, users will be offered the role of Daryl or one of three other characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead – Rick Grimes, Michonne, or Carol Peletier.

The most important component of the action is battles. The developers promise an intuitive combat system with realistic dismemberment of enemies based on physics. Players will be able to cut off arms, legs, and heads, and sometimes weapons will get stuck in the bodies of the dead. In addition, zombies can be grabbed, repelled, and thrown at other opponents. The arsenal includes 24 types of weapons (ranged and melee), including those from the TV series.

The player’s base is the Alexandria Safe-Zone, which is well known to fans – from here he goes on forays in search of resources. Here you can improve the characteristics of the character, create and customize weapons, exchange resources, and communicate with other heroes. Gradually, the settlement will turn into a “fortified bastion of hope for the future of humanity

Recommended system requirements include an Intel Core i5-4590 or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor, 12GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, or AMD Radeon RX 480 graphics card. The PC version requires 7GB of free hard disk space.

The game is only available in English.

In January 2020, another VR action movie based on The Walking Dead with a sophisticated system for dismembering zombies was released – The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners from Skydance Interactive. It is also released for PC and PlayStation 4 and has “very positive” reviews on Steam and 79-81 out of 100 on Metacritic.
