Ori and the Will of the Wisps on Xbox Series X will be able to run in 6K, but will only show 4K

Moon Studios co-founder and Ori and the Will of the Wisps director Thomas Mahler on the ResetEra forum talked about one of the undocumented features of the Xbox Series X version.

Recall that the critically acclaimed action-platformer from Moon Studios on the more powerful next-generation Microsoft console will be able to work in 4K (full) resolution at 120 fps.

As it turned out, 4K in (at least in one of the modes) Ori and the Will of the Wisps for Xbox Series X is not simple, but achieved by supersampling from the original resolution – 6K.

However, Mahler is a little cunning: as the Digital Foundry specialists demonstrated at the end of October, a similar method ( from 6K to 4K ) is used in the action-adventure The Tourist.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps were released in March on PC (Steam, Windows 10) and Xbox One, and reached the Nintendo Switch in September . The Xbox Series X version will be available at the same time the console launches on November 10.
