It will be sold under the Jaecoo J7 name in other markets.
On August 10, Chery officially opened pre-sales of its all-new lightweight compact crossover called the Chery Tansuo 06, formerly known as the Chery Exploration 06.
Presale prices for the rear-wheel drive model start at $18,000, while the all-wheel drive model starts at $20,200. The combustion engine version is expected to launch on August 20 in China, with the hybrid coming later. The car will enter the international market under the name Jaecoo J7.
Chery Tansuo 06 received darkened window frames, wheel arches and red calipers. On the front panel is a large rectangular grille with the Chery logo. At the back there is a large bumper, new lights that are combined with an LED strip, and two exhaust pipes built into the bumper.
The length, width and height of the car are 4538, 1898 and 1680 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2672 mm. The new vehicle’s approach angle is 21 degrees, the departure angle is 29 degrees, and the minimum ground clearance is 200 mm.

The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 197 horsepower and a maximum torque of 290 Nm, as well as a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox. The new car will offer several driving modes such as snow, mud and sand. Its fuel consumption is 6.98 l / 100 km and 7.48 l / 100 km for the rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, respectively.
The interior has a simple style and is equipped with a large vertical 13.2-inch LCD screen, a digital instrument panel, a head-up display and a large gear lever. The computer system is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155. Advanced Driver Assistance Level 2.5 with 23 functions is available.
Trunk volume reaches 1335 liters. The rear seats can be completely folded down.
