Radeon RX 6700 XT will indeed receive 12 GB GDDR6 and the output of the video card is not far off
In the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) database, data on the registration of several models of Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics accelerators from Gigabyte was found. So far, the unannounced models will join the range of gaming graphics cards from the Aorus, Gaming, and Eagle series.
Earlier, several network sources said that the Radeon RX 6700 XT would receive 12 GB of GDDR6 video memory. The latest data from the ECE confirms this information. The manufacturer has registered six variants of the Radeon RX 6700 XT with this amount of memory. The range of proposals will likely expand in the future since, in addition to the older Radeon RX 6700 XT, a less productive version of the Radeon RX 6700 is also expected.
AMD itself, in the latest financial report, admitted that it would continue to expand the series of Radeon RX 6000 graphics accelerators in the first half of 2021 but did not specify exactly when it is going to announce video cards. Rumor has it that both Radeon RX 6700 models may be unveiled in March. Recently, the official logo of the Radeon RX 6700 XT model appeared on the web.
At the end of last year, it became known that the younger models of the Radeon RX 6000 series video cards will be equipped with a more compact cooling system with two fans. At the same time, it was reported that the new items would receive two 8-pin connectors for additional power. But given the age of the leak, the information may already be irrelevant. During one of the latest presentations, AMD briefly showed the reference design of the younger models of the Radeon RX 6000, without specifying specific names. As it turned out, the youngest models based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture will be equipped with a single-fan cooling system.
According to several sources, the Radeon RX 6700 XT is powered by the Navi 22 graphics chip, including 2,560 stream processors and up to 40 Ray Accelerators. The latter are hardware modules for handling real-time ray tracing tasks.
The video card will also include 12 GB of GDDR6 memory with a 192-bit bus, as well as an additional fast memory buffer Infinity Cache, which will increase the bandwidth of the main video memory stack. The Infinity Cache size for the Radeon RX 6700 XT and Radeon RX 6700 has yet to be confirmed. Radeon RX 6900 XT, Radeon RX 6800 XT, and Radeon RX 6800 use 128 MB Infinity Cache.
Direct competitors of the Radeon RX 6700 XT on the market will be the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and GeForce RTX 3060 models. The latter is expected to start selling at the end of this month. It is also equipped with 12 GB of video memory.
