Later, information appeared that Snapdragon 888 would be used in the older model Redmi K40 Pro. The standard model Redmi K40 will get the new flagship MediaTek platform, which should be called Dimensity 1200.
Yesterday, Redmi Director of New Products Wang Teng Thomas announced on his Weibo page that the company would release at least two Redmi K40 series smartphones based on the Snapdragon 888 SoC.
Last year, Redmi launched several K30 series smartphones at different price points. In early 2020, the Redmi K30 5G appeared, and in February, the Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom were announced. The smartphones had similar specs to the Snapdragon 865, but the Zoom version offered better zoom.
