Samsung also came up with a sliding smartphone with a flexible screen
Samsung has proposed another version of a smartphone with a flexible display: a description of the device is published on the website of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Resource LetsGoDigital in collaboration with Concept Creator presented renders of the device, formed on the basis of patent documentation. The images give an idea of the design features of the gadget.
We are talking about a slider smartphone that users can slide apart in width. This will open access to an additional section of the flexible screen, which is hidden inside the case when folded. As a result, the usable display area will increase by about 30%.
There are several options for the rear side. Here can be installed, say, an auxiliary screen. In addition, the possibility of using a special flexible material is being considered, which will allow the rear panel to be pulled out of the case like a front display.
The main camera of the novelty, as noted, can be made in the style of the Galaxy S21 smartphones. It will receive at least three optical components with image sensors. Among other things, a screen fingerprint scanner for taking fingerprints is mentioned.
Whether Samsung is going to create a commercial device based on the proposed design is not yet clear.
