Samsung ends support for four 2017 smartphones, and Galaxy Fold 5G is out of danger

Samsung has dropped them from the list of models that continue to receive security updates. Also, the 2018 Galaxy A8 model will now receive updates not once a month, but once a quarter.

Interestingly, at first, a completely modern and not at all cheap Galaxy Fold 5G model also disappeared from this list, alarming users with the threat of termination of support. As it turned out later, Samsung will still continue to release monthly security updates for this smartphone.

In the summer of 2020, Samsung made a three-year commitment to update Android. For flagship models starting with the Galaxy S10, there will be three major OS updates each – Android 11, Android 12, and so on.
