This is not the first experience of cooperation between Samsung and Qualcomm. At the end of winter, it became known that Samsung would release some of the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 modems using 5nm technology, but by the summer, sources said that all orders had migrated to the TSMC conveyor due to production problems of the Korean contractor. In the case of processors for smartphones, apparently, the customer does not expect such problems.

Samsung has received orders for the IBM POWER 10 processors and NVIDIA Ampere graphics chips for the GeForce RTX 30 series graphics cards. In the third quarter of this year, the Korean manufacturer will be able to claim 17.4% of the global contract services market, according to TrendForce forecasts. Taiwanese TSMC will maintain its dominant position with 53.9% of the market. The Korean giant seeks to reduce its dependence on the volatile memory market in order to stabilize cash flows, one of the areas of business diversification should be the segment of contract services.
