The same PhoneBuff resource, the tests of which are allocated using a robotic manipulator, decided to check this aspect by comparing the Galaxy S20 + on two different platforms. In this case, the test is also valuable for the reason that it really simulates some average use of the smartphone, while most other resources at best have several subtests alternating.
As you can see, the modification with the Exynos 990 really turned off before. She worked 24 hours and 14 minutes with 8 hours and 14 minutes of the active screen, which is a worthy result. The Snapdragon 865 version lasted 25 hours 4 minutes with 9 hours and 4 minutes of the active screen. If we talk about the screen’s operating time, which is more correct, it turns out that the difference is about 10% in favor of the modification with the Qualcomm top platform, and this is not particularly critical.
It is worth noting that the Exynos 990 shows itself a little worse not only under load – in standby mode, the difference between the platforms grew, that is, the top Samsung SoC has problems in this mode.
You also need to consider that in the source scenario there were no “heavy” games, but not everyone plays them. So for most ordinary users who do not play such game projects, there will not be much difference between the two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S20 + in either speed or autonomy.
