Sony gives employees unique PS5 gamepads in special colors
Sony made an unusual gift to the employees who worked on the PlayStation 5. They were given unique gamepads that cannot be purchased anywhere else. This was announced by PlayStation design manager Joey Rabbit.
The controller is finished in white with a gold-colored steel insert at the bottom. The gamepad says “PS5 Launch Team”. The rest of the device looks like a classic Sony gamepad. Probably, the opportunity to buy such a controller will appear only if the company’s employees decide to sell their devices on the secondary market.
As noted by GamesRadar, the two-tone color scheme makes the gamepad more attractive and comfortable to play. Sony currently ships controllers in only one color scheme. Whether the company plans to offer a different design is unclear.
At the same time, Microsoft is ahead of the competition, offering gamepads of various colors. In mid-January, the company showed the controller in red and white colors. The device is expected to go on sale in February 2021.
