The Sony Xperia 1 II lacks the Album Gallery, and the Lifelog fitness app will soon stop working

Sony recently began selling its latest flagship smartphone Sony Xperia 1 II, including in Russia. The launch was not without flaws and complaints from users.

With great surprise, many Sony Xperia 1 II users found that their smartphone did not have the standard Sony Album gallery app (Album) installed. Moreover, when downloading and installing from the Google Play Store online application store, the application refuses to work. The application is simply not supported, which causes bewilderment and discontent among its fans.

There is a high probability that this is not a flaw or a mistake at all, but Sony’s intentional action to “retire” a number of applications. Album is considered one of Sony’s best-branded apps and would be sorry if it was really shut down.

Sony also began to notify users about the imminent closure of its own fitness application Lifelog. Information in the application will no longer be synchronized with the cloud after July 2020. Old data will be saved on devices where Lifelog is already installed and used.

Starting August 1, Lifelog will be disconnected from the network and if by this moment the user uninstalls the application from the device, then all data will be lost and cannot be restored by installing Lifelog on the smartphone again.

In Russia, the Sony Xperia 1 II is offered at an official retail price of $1157.
