Tesla Semi is in trouble. The company is recalling some of the cars
The defect increases the chance of an accident. According to the recall notice, faulty modules may “not move to the park position when the parking brake is applied,” leaving drivers unaware that their Semi may roll away. According to available information, a defect in the parking brake component did not lead to an accident or any damage.
Tesla said it will “replace the parking brake valve module with a redesigned part with improved internals that prevent air leakage and allow the driver to apply and release the parking brake.”
Over the weekend, the electric vehicle maker released a report on vehicle production and shipments for the first quarter of 2023. Tesla beat Wall Street’s expectations and set a new quarterly record with more than 440,000 vehicles shipped.
