The Google Camera 8.1 app includes many AI-powered automated shooting modes. The app has dedicated long-exposure astrophotography, Night Sight, portrait mode, special cinematic panning. Also, the developers have improved the mechanism for switching shooting modes, making it more convenient. Previously, the application was only available to owners of Google Pixel 4a and Pixel 5. However, it should be noted that this application is unofficial and released by independent developers with optimization for smartphones from other manufacturers.

The modified Google Camera 8.1 works on almost all smartphones running Android 10 and Android 11. As noted by the developers, the application may not work on some Samsung and OnePlus smartphones. And devices based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor are not yet supported.
