For comparison, the older GA102 chip, which serves as the main one for the GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 models, has 28.3 billion transistors on board. The crystal area of GA104-300 is also smaller than the area of GA102: 392 mm 2 versus 628 mm 2 for GA102. The graphics chip is manufactured by Samsung using an 8nm process technology.
About a month ago, it became known that the GA104 GPU will also be used in the mobile graphics of the GeForce RTX 30 series. We saw him in a company with 8 GB of GDDR6 video memory as part of the mobile version of the GeForce RTX 3070.
