The head of Xiaomi Redmi hinted at the preparation of a smartphone with a Snapdragon 875 chip
Lu Weibing, general manager of Xiaomi’s Redmi brand, has hinted at developing a smartphone-based on the future flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Mr. Weibing, via the social network Weibo, asked users if they were looking forward to new products based on the 5nm processor. Observers immediately began to suggest that we are talking about a flagship smartphone with a Snapdragon 875 chip.
The production of the named product, as we reported the other day, will be handled by Samsung. The Snapdragon 875 processor, according to the available information, will combine eight computing cores in a “1 + 3 + 4” configuration, an Adreno 660 graphics accelerator, and a Snapdragon X60 5G modem with data transfer rates up to 7.5 Gb / s.
It is noted that the Snapdragon 875 chip can become the “heart” of the Redmi K40 Pro smartphone, the official presentation of which will take place no earlier than the first quarter of next year. This device will receive a high-quality display with a resolution of at least Full HD + and a multi-module camera.
According to Gartner estimates, in the second quarter of this year, 294.7 million smartphones were sold worldwide, which is 20.4% less than a year ago. Xiaomi, with a share of 8.9%, ranks fourth in the ranking of leading suppliers.
