Sony IMX800 has 1 / 1.18 ” optical format

According to sources, the Sony IMX800 inch image sensor, which is due to debut in the Huawei P50 smartphone, will actually have an optical format not 1, but 1 / 1.18 inch.

Now everything is falling into place: in a previous post, a knowledgeable insider stated that Samsung ISOCELL GN2 will be the largest mobile image sensor this year . The 50-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor has a 1 / 1.12-inch optical format. The pixel size is 1.4 micrometers.

It is also reported that the younger version of Huawei P50 will be equipped with a Kirin 9000L single-chip system, which is produced according to Samsung’s EUV 5nm process technology. The overall design is similar to the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000E, but the Kirin 9000L has relatively simpler GPUs and NPUs. At the same time, Huawei P50 Pro and P50 Pro + will receive Kirin 9000E and Kirin 9000, respectively.

The Huawei P50 is set to be the world’s first smartphone out of the box to run Harmony OS, known in China as Hongmeng OS.

Earlier, the announcement of Huawei P50 was expected in April, but recently it became known about the postponement of the presentation date to May this year.
