The OnePlus Nord screen turns green at low brightness. The manufacturer says this is how it should be

OnePlus unveiled a mid-range smartphone Nord last week, and a few hours ago, a second device in the family was mentioned in a test build of OxygenOS. But not everything is going smoothly: now it is reported that the first users of the new smartphone began to face image defects at low levels of backlight brightness, similar to those seen on the OnePlus 8 Pro, released earlier this year.

Many OnePlus Nord users have started to post about the discovered defect on Reddit and the company’s support forum. Most of them report the same symptoms. Severe color distortion is observed at the display brightness below 25%. A 9to5Google editorial staff member faced the same problem while writing a review for OnePlus Nord.

In turn, OnePlus disclaims responsibility, for now, claiming that the problems observed by users are not a problem at all, but the typical behavior of an AMOLED screen, due to its design features, which does not affect everyday use and the durability of the display.

It is worth recalling that in the OnePlus 8 Pro, the manufacturer fixed a similar problem by increasing the minimum level of backlight brightness in one of the software updates. It is likely that the company will do the same with Nord.
