Huami Technology, a well-known wearable device manufacturer and partner of Xiaomi, made an official statement mentioning the release dates of the new Xiaomi Mi Band 5 fitness bracelet, as well as refuting rumors about breaking up relations with Xiaomi.

Huami Technology claims that Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is expected to be released this calendar year. Previously, sources indicated that the presentation of new items should take place this spring. Perhaps, before the announcement, Xiaomi wants to give a little more free space and time to the Redmi Band, the first fitness bracelet from a subsidiary brand that has recently gone on sale.
Xiaomi and Huami have a long-standing partnership, Huami manufactures Xiaomi Mi Band and other devices commissioned by the Chinese giant. However, the company has repeatedly stated and emphasized the fact that Huami is not running Xiaomi. They have only an agreement on mutual cooperation.
Recently, rumours circulated that relations between the companies had greatly worsened, allegedly Xiaomi stopped investing in Huami, and also sold its shares. One of the leaders of Huami completely denied these rumors and explained that Xiaomi has not sold a single share of Huami for the entire duration of their cooperation.
