This is not Tesla: the Lucid Air premium electric sedan is presented at a price of up to $ 169 thousand
Lucid Motors has unveiled the production version of the Lucid Air premium electric sedan. In total, the company plans to start producing four variants of the electric vehicle in the next couple of years.
The $ 169,000 flagship Air Dream and the $ 139,000 Air Grand Touring will enter production at the company’s new Casa Grande, Arizona plant this year. Their deliveries will begin in the spring of 2021.
The other two options – the $ 95,000 Air Touring model and the base Lucid Air model cost just under $ 80,000 – will hit the market in late 2021 and 2022, respectively.
“ Tesla (Model S) is premium, beautifully engineered, and super revolutionary, but it is not a replacement for the Mercedes S in the electric vehicle space, and this is what we are offering, ” CEO Peter Rawlinson said in recent press interviews.
The four variants of the electric vehicle differ in the level of performance provided by the twin-engine all-wheel-drive platform. The older Air Dream boasts 1080 hp. from. and the ability to pick up speed from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds. Its range on a single battery charge is 503 miles (810 km) according to the methodology of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA).
The Grand Touring has the largest range of 517 miles (832 km). The model is equipped with electric motors with a total capacity of 800 liters. from. and is capable of accelerating to 100 km / h in 3 seconds.
The Air electric vehicle will also be equipped with 32 sensors, a driver monitoring system, and Ethernet-based network architecture.
Interestingly, the configuration of the Lucid electric car can be selected on the manufacturer’s website as characteristics of a character in a video game with testing in a virtual environment in the Lucid showroom.
