Taiwanese company TSMC is ready to begin mass production of its 3nm chips this week, according to DigiTimes. According to the source, TSMC intends to hold a ceremony on December 29 to launch commercial production of chips using the 3nm process technology. The event will take place at Fab 18’s South Taiwan Science Park (STSP) plant and will also announce plans to expand 3nm chip production at the plant.
Apple is expected to be the main customer for the new processors. SoC M2 Pro should be made using 3nm technology , on the basis of which the Apple MacBook 14 and 16, Mac Studio and Mac mini models will be built. And later, towards the end of next year, the A17 Bionic platform will appear, which will form the basis of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra smartphones.
