Budget GPU Ampere Shows Performance Wonders
The source published a slide of the official presentation of Nvidia with the performance of the promising GeForce RTX 3060 Ti video card. The graph is interesting in that, along with the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, two more models are presented in it – the GeForce RTX 2060 Super and the GeForce RTX 2080 Super. And the RTX 3060 Ti is faster than both of them! But if the advantage over the GeForce RTX 2060 Super was still predictable, then the superiority over the GeForce RTX 2080 Super was a big surprise: after all (at least from what is known at the moment) the RTX 3060 Ti has a lower memory and GPU frequency. The RTX 3060 Ti also has fewer real-time ray tracing cores, but this does not prevent it from leading in the corresponding tests too.

By the way, about the test conditions. It was run with a monitor resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, and the test system used an Intel Core i9-10900K processor. All frequencies are standard. As you can see, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 Super in all tests, except for one – Watch Dogs Legion.
The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is expected to be announced on December 2. The video card will receive 4864 CUDA cores, and this is the guarantee of its advantage over the GeForce RTX 2080 Super, which has “only” 3072 CUDA cores. The base frequency of the GPU GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is 1410 MHz, the frequency in Boost mode is 1665 MHz. The volume of video memory GDDR6 will be 8 GB, its frequency – 14 GHz, and the memory bus width – 256 bits. The GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is expected to cost less than $ 400, which means it will also be cheaper than the RTX 2080 Super.
