The manufacturer claims that this is the company’s first model, which was originally conceived as an electric car – without internal combustion engines or hybrid solutions. Key design changes have been made to the roof and rear of the vehicle. The new model features sleeker lines in the body design and LED lights with pixel technology.

Volvo also claims that this is the first electric car with an all-leather interior. It will come in a unique color and one finish. The cabin is similar to the XC40 – with a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen.

The electric car is equipped with a 402 horsepower engine and a 78 kWh battery in terms of power. The maximum power reserve is 420 kilometers. Acceleration of the crossover to 100 km / h takes 4.9 seconds, and the top speed is 180 kilometers per hour. The company claims that the C40 can be charged up to 80% in 40 minutes.

Volvo C40 will be available for purchase exclusively online and at a fixed price. Presumably, the starting price will be around $ 60,000. Along with the electric car, the customer will receive a package of services that includes roadside assistance, service, warranty, home charger, and insurance if needed. Production of the model will begin this fall, and sales are expected to start at the end of the year.
