Xiaomi foldable smartphone caught in the photo – perhaps it is Mi Mix 4

Xiaomi has not released new smartphones from the Mi Mix family for 2 years. Probably, in 2021, the company will release a competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold under this brand. This is reported by GizChina.

As a popular Chinese insider pointed out on his Weibo account, major Chinese mobile device manufacturers Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo will launch their first foldable smartphones this year. If absolutely nothing is known about the Oppo and Vivo new products, then the upcoming Xiaomi novelty was noticed by users on the streets.

A certain engineering sample of such a device got on the “spy” pictures. The fact that this is exactly Xiaomi became clear from the MIUI 12 shell, which is used in the company’s smartphones. It is worth saying that other smartphones with a foldable screen running MIUI 12 have not yet been presented. The final look will probably differ from the one shown in the pictures above, but this smartphone is most likely the Mi Mix 4. Xiaomi has always implemented the most daring and unusual technologies in smartphones of this family – even the Mi Mix Alpha with a display wrapped around the body came out under this brand.

From the photos, it is clear that the folding mechanism in the hinge will be similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. Most likely, similar smartphones from Oppo and Vivo will be made in the same form factor. Nothing is known about the characteristics of the smartphone yet, but various sources have reported the release of the Mi Mix 4 this year, so we should expect more details about the device in the coming months.
