Xiaomi has come up with a slider smartphone with a flexible display that is folded over the back of the device
The Chinese company Xiaomi continues to patent designs of smartphones with non-standard design solutions: another version of the device with a flexible display has been proposed.
Product information is published on the websites of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Resource LetsGoDigital presented conceptual renders of the novelty, created on the basis of patent documentation.
This is a slider-style smartphone. This design will allow using the hidden unit of the front camera: users will be able to access it by sliding part of the body. The block can include several sensors for various purposes.
The display occupies the entire front panel and folds down onto the back of the device. The main camera has a four-piece design. It can be used to take self-portraits using the rear section of the flexible screen as a viewfinder.
On the renders, you can see the side physical control buttons. The fingerprint scanner is likely to be integrated directly into the display area.
Alas, it is not yet clear whether Xiaomi is going to release a commercial device with the proposed design. There is a possibility that the device will remain just another “paper” development.
