Xiaomi has promised to use less plastic. Chargers and accessories from smartphone boxes will not be lost

Xiaomi said on its official Twitter account that it is committed to reducing the amount of plastic used in packaging branded products by 60 percent. Users from Europe will be the first to receive devices in new boxes. Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite will be the first smartphone to ship in a new package.

It’s worth noting that the company was only referring to the retail product box, not the contents. The set of accessories supplied with the devices will not change. The Mi 10T Lite comes with a charger, USB-C cable, and even a case. In any case, such a step looks like an attack on Apple, which, in order to fight for the environment, has abandoned charging adapters and headphones in a set of smartphones.

It is likely that Xiaomi will supply its smartphones with chargers for a long time to come. While 20-watt adapters for the iPhone 12 are easy to obtain, finding 100- or 80-watt adapters for charging flagship Xiaomi is quite problematic.
