Besides the increased image refresh rate, Xiaomi will introduce new display features in the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. A senior member of the XDA Developers Forum nicknamed kacskrz, who also has a solid track record when it comes to new Xiaomi products, recently discovered mentions of several new display features in the latest MIUI 12 beta. These include MEMC, SDR to HDR conversion and smart scaling. using artificial intelligence.
Xiaomi has already implemented support for MEMC technology in several of its previous phones, including the Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 10T Pro. Recall that MEMC is a dynamic image quality compensation technology designed to make the picture on the screen smoother and the details of the image clearer.
But the company has not previously applied SDR to HDR scaling or AI scaling in any smartphone. It is unclear at this point whether Xiaomi will use its own display technology or whether it plans to license it from a company like Pixelworks.
