Xiaomi unveils a power bank that can turn into a desktop station for wireless charging of smartphones

Xiaomi today introduced the Mi Wireless Power Bank 30W, which combines two devices in one. It’s not only an external battery with a wireless charging function. A dedicated docking station allows you to turn your device into a stationary dock for the wireless charging of smartphones.

The claimed battery capacity is 10,000 mAh, although the nominal capacity of the lithium polymer battery is only 5600 mAh. The most interesting feature of the new external battery is that it comes complete with a docking station that allows you to turn the device into a stationary docking station for wireless charging. In this scenario, the docking station charges the external battery, which in turn charges the smartphone. Pass-through charging is also supported.

The external battery is equipped with one USB-A port with a maximum output power of 27W. There is also a USB-C port capable of delivering 30W. The maximum wireless charging power is also 30W. The external battery is charged in two ways: via the USB Type-C port or from a docking station that connects to the device via the POGO connector. The docking station has a maximum output power of 10W, while the USB Type-C connector is capable of receiving 18W of power.

The cost of Mi Power Bank 30W is $ 29. The device is already available for pre-order in the Xiaomi online store.
