Zoom App Breaks All Previous Records for App Store Downloads
The Zoom video conferencing application has grown rapidly in popularity over the past few months, and the growth rate continues to persist.
Zoom broke all records and topped the App Store. Even TikTok couldn’t resist
As it turns out, Zoom has broken all previous App Store downloads, including an amazing TikTok score. According to a recent study by Sensor Tower, Zoom was downloaded about 90 million times in the second quarter of 2020 in the United States alone.
The Sensor Tower report also says Zoom is far from the only app that has become hugely popular amid the pandemic and the shift to remote work/training for many. Health and fitness apps, business apps, and various educational apps have become more popular. Travel, sports, and navigation apps, on the other hand, showed a drop in downloads.
Worldwide app downloads hit a record 37.8 billion in the second quarter alone, up 31.7% from last year. App Store installs grew 22.6% to 9.1 billion, and Google Play grew 34.9% to 28.7 billion.
