ZTE announced Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition – another smartphone with a hidden camera under the screen
ZTE unveiled the world’s first smartphone with the Axon 20 5G sub-screen front camera in September. The company today announced on its Weibo account that an improved version of this smartphone called the Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition will soon be on the market.
ZTE has posted an image showing the back panel of the new device, made in orange. It has a large Axon logo and the main quad-camera block. Since the device received the Extreme Edition prefix, there is speculation that it will receive a more powerful processor. Recall that the base model is based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. However, ZTE has yet to provide details on the specs of the new smartphone.
Although the photo shows only the rear panel of the device, the inscription in Chinese states that the Axon 20 5G Extreme Edition, like the original model, will receive a front-facing camera hidden under the screen. ZTE is expected to provide technical specifications as well as shed light on the cost and availability of the smartphone soon.
The original Axon 20 5G features a 6.92-inch OLED panel with Full HD + resolution. The fingerprint scanner, like the front camera, is integrated under the smartphone display. The device is based on Android 10 with MiFavor 10.5 proprietary shell.
