The head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, today met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said that from 2024, the annual production of Superjet Superjet New (SSJ-NEW) aircraft with Russian engines is planned at the level of 20 aircraft.
“For the first time in 2024, we will launch mass production of Superjet — Superjet New aircraft. This is an aircraft that is equipped with our PD-8 engines, completely our avionics, in fact, completely our aircraft – completely from our, Russian components, ”said Sergey Chemezov.
Chemezov added that the volume of production of Tu-214 aircraft by 2025 will be ten pieces per year. Rostec will also start serial production of the MS-21 medium-haul aircraft in 2024. The first six aircraft will be handed over to Russian airlines.
20 Sukhoi Superjet New and 10 Tu-214s per year
Sukhoi Superjet NEW is a fully imported version of the Superjet 100 (SSJ-100). It has replaced about 40 foreign systems and components.
The other day it was reported that in Russia they plan to produce 88 domestic passenger aircraft per year, including 36 MS-21 and 20 Tu-214.
Vladimir Putin said that Russian aircraft manufacturers need to have time to occupy the vacated niche before the return of Western companies .
